Le Grand Théâtre de la ville de Luxembourg

Ceci est une peinture de 2007.  Le Grand Théâtre m'a tout de suite plu parce qu'il fait très années 70 ( même s'il a 50 ans).  Il devait être très avant-gardiste à l'époque.  J'aime tout ce qui fait années 70.  Le Grand Théâtre me fait aussi penser aux bâtiments qu'on voit à Montpellier, à la Grande-Motte.  C'est pour cela que je l'ai peint.  De plus, dans ma famille, on aime le théâtre.  Amateur, surtout.  Mes grands-parents faisaient du théâtre amateur et ma mère aussi.  C'était en Angleterre et ils ont joué dans beaucoup de Pantomimes.  Mon grand-père, Howard Pickard, était membre de Gilbert and Sullivan.  Margaret Bailey, très connue à Plymouth, était une amie de la famille et je l'ai connue aussi.

This painting dates of 2007.  I've always had a fascination for theatre because I come from a family where it is normal to go to the theatre.  My grandparents played in Pantomimes  and were friends with Margaret Bailey, famous in Plymouth.  My grandfather was a member of Gilbert and Sullivan.
The Grand Theatre celebrated its 50th anniversary this year and I thought it was of the seventies for its style.
Je vais bientôt exposer ce tableau au syndicat d'initiative de Mondorf-les-Bains, si vous voulez l'admirer de plus près.  Le vernissage de l'exposition sera le 14 mars 2014.  L'exposition ne durera qu'une semaine. Le vernissage est le vendredi 14 mars 2014 à partir de 19 heures dans le bureau du Syndicat d'Initiative de Mondorf-les-Bains au 26, avenue des Bains à Mondorf-les-Bains.
L'exposition est ouverte du 14 au 23 mars 2014.  Du mardi au samedi de 9h00 à 12h00 et de 13h00 à 18h00.  J'y serai au vernissage bien sûr, les samedi  après-midi et le mardi après-midi à partir de 14 heures.  Pour le dimanche, je m'excuse pour ce que j'ai écrit précédemment, mais c'est fermé.
This painting will be exhibited at the Tourist Office of Mondorf-les-Bains starting on March 14th, 2014 (this will be for the painting preview) and the painting exhibition will last until Sunday 23rd.  The painting preview is on Friday 14th March starting at 7pm.  Then I will be there on Tuesday afternoon, on the Saturday afternoons at the time given above with the address also given above.
