Cadeau donné fait référence à la chanson de Corinne Hermès de 1983 pour le Luxembourg «  Si la vie est cadeau ».

Cadeau donné, a given present or gift refers to the famous song by Corinne Hermès who made her win the Eurovision Song Contest in 1983.

At the time, I found the words of the song very shocking ( I was 13 at the time and this was a difficult time in my life, but now I understand that song better and I accept it more at my age. 

Je trouvais la chanson très choquante à l’époque mais maintenant, je la comprends encore plus et je l’accepte mieux à mon âge.

En français, il y a une expression : Donner, c’est donner, reprendre, c’est voler. » en faisant référence à un cadeau.

In French, we have a saying referring to presents.  Giving is giving and taking back is stealing.

By the way, médaille, is pronounced mé as in me in medical and daille is pronounced as if you pronounced it die in English.  As in to die.  Or the sound aille is pronounced like aïe in French that means ouch or ail in French that means garlic.

Chez le dentiste

Quand on va chez le dentiste,

Cela nous rend triste.

Les caries, c'est notre souci.

Et le prix.

Même remboursé,

Cela va coûter !

Les dents,

C'est important.

Il faut les conserver,

Jusqu'à 100 ans.

Après,

On peut toujours manger de la purée,

Ou finir dans un musée.

J'espère que ce poème vous a amusé.

Car les dents, il ne faut pas les grincer.

Les mots sont que de l’air

Qui font des bulles ou qui font des pets.

On les ramasse à la pelle.

Ce ne sont pas toujours des trophées.

On peut les enjoliver

Les masquer, les effacer.

Ils ne font pas toujours leur effet.

Ils se font manipuler

Dans tous les sens.

Il y a les mots de laids,

Les mots forts

Les mots de têtes,

Les m’autorisés.

Jamais ils ne vont s’arrêter

D’apparaître et de s’afficher

Seuls ou accompagnés.

S’il vous plaît, acceptez-les.

Les mots d’Est.  Et les mots qui blessent.

Les mots simples et les mots complexes.

Dans toute leur diversité.

Ils représentent toute notre vie.

Words

Words are light, they are just in the air,

They make bubbles, they are like farts.

You can scoop them up.

They are not always trophies or awarding.

You can make them seem better.

You can hide them away, you can erase them.

They don’t always have their effect.

They are manipulated

In all  different ways.

There are ugly words.

Strong words.

Witty words

M’otorized words.

Nobody will stop them

From showing off

On their own or accompanied.

Please, do accept them as they are !

Eastern words/ Modest words.  Words that hurt.

The simple and the more complex ones. 

In all their diversity.

They represent our entire lives !
