Broderie d'Auntie Nan

Voici une broderie d'Auntie Nan.  Auntie Nan, c'était la soeur de ma grand-mère maternelle, la plus artistique de la famille de sa génération côté anglais de ma famille.  En fait, cette broderie fait partie d'une nappe abîmée et la cousine Kay de ma mère (la plus artisitique de sa génération) m'en a découpé un bout qu'elle a transformé en carte d'anniversaire.  Il faut dire que Kay est une spécialiste de peinture sur soie.  Je pense que toutes les deux sont les femmes de la famille qui m'ont le plus inspirées artistiquement ( inconsciemment dans mon enfance).  Merci Kay.

This is an embroidery by Auntie Nan.  Auntie Nan was my grandmother's sister, on my mother's side of the family, the most artistic person of the family (on the British side of my family).  In fact, this embroidery was part of an old tablecloth that was too old to be used again, that my Mum's cousin Kay took to make this birthday card.  Kay is the most artistic person of the family of her generation and she is a specialist in silk painting.  I think that both Auntie Nan and Kay are the women in the family who have the most inspired me artistically ( unconsciously in my childhood).  Thank you Kay.
